CAN I VIEW A SAMPLE COURSE IN BLACKBOARD?
Yes, Access Blackboard: Student Email Address: online Password: sample All lower case letters.
WHAT IS MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD FOR BLACKBOARD?

You will access Blackboard using your student email address and password (you created). *Please note that passwords are always case sensitive.*

CAN I ACCESS BLACKBOARD WITHOUT HAVING TO FIRST GO TO THE LUTHER RICE WEBSITE OR STUDENT PORTAL?

Yes, simply type the BlackBoard URL directly into the address bar of your internet browser. Simply type: Http://bb.lutherrice.edu then click “Go”. Before you click on the login button, add the Blackboard website to your “Favorites.”

HOW DO I ACCESS MY LUTHER RICE PROVIDED STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT?
All current students should be using their Luther Rice webmail account – referred to as Google Apps. This is where you will receive official correspondence from Luther Rice College & Seminary. It is the student’s responsibility to check this account on a regular basis. The URL for checking your Luther Rice student email is mail.student.lutherrice.edu/. The username is your first and last name (separated by a period) formatted (example: john.smith. The initial default password is lutherrice. This password should be changed the first time you access your account. Your full Luther Rice email address will be formatted as john.smith@student.lutherrice.edu Contact Infotech@LutherRice.edu if you require assistance logging into Google Apps.
WHERE CAN I FIND MY PROFESSOR'S EMAIL ADDRESS?

Typically all professor’s email addresses are their Firstname.Lastname@LutherRice.edu. For instance if your professor’s name is Rusty Ricketson, his email address would be Rusty.Ricketson@LutherRice.edu. You can view the full time faculty members email addresses by clicking here.

WHAT IS MY STUDENT LOGIN?

Your username (aka User Id) is your student email address. Each new student is assigned a Luther Rice email address and password upon acceptance. The first time you log in. you will use the password provided to you when you were accepted. This information was sent to you after you were accepted. You will be required to change this initial password for security purposes – this new password will then be used each time you log in. *Please note that passwords are case sensitive.*

WHY AM I UNABLE TO CHANGE MY EMAIL ADDRESS IN MY CONTACT INFORMATION?

All students are to use their Luther Rice student email address for correspondence with Luther Rice. The email field is read-only and cannot be changed. See “FAQ 4: How do I access my Luther Rice provided Student Email” to learn how to login to your student email account. As of 2011, all new students receive a new email address firstname.lastname@student.lutherrice.edu.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER?
At the Free Downloads page. Adobe Reader is used to view PDF documents.
WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER?
At the Free Downloads page . Windows Media Player will allow you to listen to your MP3 lectures from professors; however, most professors have recorded their lectures in HTML5 video format. Modern browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome should play most all audio and video lectures without any difficulty.

DOES LUTHER RICE SUPPORT APPLE OR MAC COMPUTERS? WINDOWS COMPUTERS?

Our Office of I.T. does offer limited support on Mac/Apple computers. The support is limited in scope to just those steps necessary to setup your Safari Browser to play ShareStream videos. We are able to offer more, although limited, assistance for Windows users as well, but can only do so on a best effort basis.  All students are expected to have working computers to complete their online work.
